Don't worry guys, Soap Shoes .info is still alive! Unfortunately other commitments frequently get in the way of keeping this site up to date. However, I'm planning a redesign of this place at some point in the future as it's desperately in need of it! Stay tuned for details.

Some of you may have seen a this UKFSW Soap Shoes trailer appear on YouTube recently. Well, you can now download a better quality version of the same video from our website, here, it can also be found on the Soap Shoes Video page. Please note, this video will not play back until it is fully downloaded (in other words, it won't begin to play back immediately in your browser window). When I get a few minutes I need to re-encode the video to fix this.

UKFSW are soon to be back on the road and filming again, this time in the Leicestershire (midlands) area. Anybody interested in hooking up and appearing in the video, please send an email to grind(at)soapshoes.info. If you can hit a curb, better a bench or maybe even a rail then come along. No pressure though, the name of the game is chilling out and having fun.

Soap Shoes Grind Plate Patent

Since Heeling Sports Limited (HSL), current owner of the Soap brand, has scrapped all shoe designs with the removable grind plate, you have to wonder what they'll do with the patent they have on the design. Maybe someone with enough money and half a business brain should make them a cash offer. Either that or go and sign the petition that's been doing the rounds; maybe this will convince them that they shouldn't be running the Soap brand into the ground.

Whilst we're bashing HSL, I think it's high time I bought a pair of those Heelys Grind Shoes (yeah, the Soap Grind Shoes rip-offs) to see how they stand up to a bit of abuse. I'll report back in a few weeks - dunk

HOT DANG!

The number one topic of conversation amongst the British is always the weather. We love to complain about it, generally because of the unrelenting rain that strips us of any enthusiasm or zest for life. But, would you believe it, our little island is experiencing somewhat of a heat wave that has seen temperatures hit the high 30s (low 100s); hotter than Barcelona as they keep telling us on the TV. Well f@!k me if the UKFSW filming session should take place slap bang in the middle of this damned heat wave. What is a soaper to do when faced with 35 degree (95 fahrenheit) heat? Well, in our case bust out a few grinds before collapsing in the shade to consume copious amounts of iced water. Sorry, guys if you were hoping for some sick media. The heat put a bit of a downer on the weekend. We did however manage to film some of the planned video tutorials which I hope we can get online soon. P.S., sign up to the forum and talk to us, we're lonely.

UKFSW SWING BACK INTO ACTION

Filming session this weekend

It's been a long two years since the UKFSW crew were last on the road but this weekend will see some of the guys hooking up in Hampshire, England to kick back and lay down some fresh skid marks (grinds for those not familiar with Soap shoe slang). Mart had the ingenuity of taking some photos of a few of the Reading rails to wet our appetite - I can only imagine he looked a mite odd to passers by, taking photos of nothing but handrails - but boy do they look good, I can't wait to don my Soap shoes once again, although after spending the last two years with my feet firmly on the ground I fear that there are some serious racks in the pipeline (I'm touching wood on every occasion).

Anyone who has followed UKFSW's progress over the last 4 or 5 years will be well aware of our bad luck with both the British weather and our notoriously poor public transport system. However, this weekend, I hope (touching wood again) things will run smoothly with a forecast of uninterrupted sunshine and our own transport (this being Mart's tin box Peugeot something-or-other and my rather camp-looking lilac coloured Jeep Wrangler, pictured above. It's for sale if anyone wants it, I've had enough of looking gay).

On the agenda this weekend is some hardcore Soap shoe action as filming for our long-awaited video once again gets underway. We're also planning on putting together a few video tutorials, plus depending on time (the weekend may turn into 3-4 days depending on Mart's plans) a few interviews and some other interesting features.
