For this trick you need to jump with your trailing foot first.

Take a diagonal run up and jump for the rail tweaking your trailing foot onto its outside edge as it hits. Swing your leading foot around behind the trailing foot and lock onto the rail on its outside edge. Your feet should be spread about shoulder width (or greater) apart. Use your arms to balance as you slide by holding them out horizontally from your sides. Lean very slightly forward over your feet. Your weight should be spread evenly over both feet.
